Novice or mixologist, our bartenders Kiel & Mike made a variety of delicious cocktails featuring our versatile blackberry fruit ale, Shade. Enjoy these four recipes based on popular drinks and step by step instructions on how to make them. We’ll walk through a Shadejito, Shade Whiskey Smash, Shadehound, and then our ever popular Shade-a-rita. Let’s get mixing!
Shadejito:
1 ½oz White Rum
3/4oz Simple Syrup
½oz of Lime Juice
Mint
Shade
In a cocktail shaker add rum, simple syrup, and lime juice. Shake with ice.
In a pint glass muddle 3 pieces of mint and add ice.
Strain the cocktail into the pint glass
Top with shade and hold the top bouquet of mint in the palm of your hand and slap it to express the mint
Shade Whiskey Smash:
2oz of Bourbon
1oz of Honey Simple Syrup
1oz of Lemon Juice
Top with Shade
Make a honey simple syrup by combining equal parts honey and water, boil in sauce pan. (Regular simple syrup will also work).
In a cocktail shaker combine ice, whiskey, simple syrup, and lemon juice with muddled basil. Shake for 5-10 seconds.
Strain the cocktail into an ice filled rocks glass and top with shade.
Garnish with a piece of fresh basil and a lemon wheel.
Shade-a-rita:
1 ½oz Tequila
3/4oz Lime Juice
3/4oz Agave Syrup
Shade
Lime
In a cocktail shaker add tequila, lime juice, and agave syrup. Shake with ice
Add ice to a pint glass and strain the cocktail into the glass.
Top with shade and garnish with a lime
