Shelly was raised in...
Shelly was raised in the small town of Rootstown, Ohio. The oldest of 5 children, she was eager to get out of the country and off to college. While earning her degree in Social Work from Cleveland State University, she began what would be a long career in Cleveland craft beer. Working in each part of the three tier system at some point, she quickly realized her passion for the beer industry would be her calling. Shelly has played sports her whole life and her competitive nature pairs perfectly with selling beer. Playing rugby, paddle boarding, or hanging out with friends she's there with a smile... and of course a cold beer!
King of the Road
Sam is a Beer salesman...
Sam is a Beer salesman by day, and mustachioed crime fighter in his down time. His motto? "Sleep is for the weak!" His father was wolf and his mother was the night. With no schooling to guide him, he spent his youth traveling the countryside in a roaming death metal band. Playing the drums and drinking cheap beer was all he knew. Then one fateful night in Denver, Colorado he discovered craft beer... and it was GLORIOUS! After growing tired of the ever changing horizons, and a serious lack of beverage options he decided to settle in Cincinnati, Ohio. His love of great craft beer was what brought him to MadTree. Like a beacon in a treacherous storm... PsycHOPathy WAS the light. Without looking back, he knew what to do.

Holly is considered a unicorn in Nashville, as she is a local native. She graduated from Western Kentucky University with a major in Communications and a minor in Broadcast Journalism. After graduating college, like most, she had no clue what to do next. The obvious choice was to get a job slinging craft beer at The Flying Saucer in Nashville. She then found her true passion, craft beer! After searching for a sales rep. job for years, and failing, she moved to Asheville, NC to work at the Sierra Nevada taproom. After running around in the woods for a few years, she landed a job at Tennessee Brew Works as a sales rep. in her home town. Holly is proud to say, she is now the Nashville Market Manager for MadTree. Ain't life grand!

Jason grew up in the land of make believe called Delhi, on the West Side
(Best Side or something) and survived its lack of highways before
graduating from UC in 2005 with a Management degree. He
spent the first 18 years of his work life at LaRosa’s, finishing up
playing GM the last 6 before magically escaping that life for the job as
an “Accountant” the last 15 months at a large company downtown. When MadTree
announced they were opening, he told his wife they were going to be big
someday and he never forgets to let her know that one time he was
right. After dancing around trying to work full time at MadTree for a
couple years and being a MadTree enthusiast, he secured an Events bar
job when 2.0 opened and started the same day he started his downtown
job. He currently resides in West Chester with his wife Kristy and two
young sons Dominic and Callen....and yes they might have another to try
to catch up to Mike (Toby).

Genetic engineering of "Dollarmatian" dogs with dollar-sign spots has animal rights groups fuming, and use of robotic maids led to wildcat strikes in Rich Industries' hotel group. Fortune took a hit after failed attempt to launch "Richie" fashion line, which consisted entirely of waistcoats and blue shorts.

Miami University. A few years in the corporate world led Taylor to
discover 9-5s weren’t for her. A few years as a stay-at-home mom helped
to refine her craft beer palate and crafted a desire to pour anything
other than apple juice 24/7. Private event bartending
at MadTree was her dream job come true! When not at work, she’s at home
wrangling two toddlers and managing her small business. But generally,
you can find her grabbing a beer after her shift to make absolutely sure
the kids are asleep before she comes home.

On July 24, 1861, Montgomery was commissioned as colonel of the 3rd Kansas Infantry of U.S. Senator James H. Lane's Kansas brigade, with Montgomery as second-in-command of the brigade. Discipline was lacking under Montgomery, and both the 3rd, 4th, and 5th Kansas would be consolidated into the 10th Kansas Infantry in April 1862. Lane's Kansas brigade was notorious for its Jayhawker-style raids into Missouri at the start of the war, particularly the Sacking of Osceola. Noted historian Albert Castel describes Montgomery as "a sincere, if unscrupulous, antislavery zealot."

When not in the lab or at MadTree you can find him walking his dog, Carini, around the city or hanging out with friends and family at local bars/restaurants.

Mike likes milk. Not as...
Mike likes milk. Not as in, “he enjoys a nice cold glass with lunch”, as in, “he’s kind of really into milk as a hobby.” So much so that not only does the former milkman have a milk bottle collection, he has over 10,000 milk bottles, and actually had to build a museum to keep all of them. It’s worth explaining that for decades, milk bottles would have various kinds of advertisements and art designs on them, so it’s not just a strange hoarding thing.

Ryan was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio (the westside that is!). He found a passion for the automotive industry at a very young age. He went to Cincinnati State Community College to follow that passion and studied in Automotive Service Management. Ryan, not satisfied with the "normal" beer selection, found himself in search of something more diverse. Around 2008 or so he started homebrewing with a close friend and the rest is history. Now the wrench has been traded in for the mash paddle and he couldn't be happier. He is currently living in Northern Kentucky with his wife, Katie, and daughter, Edie.
Sam was born and raised...
Sam was born and raised in the unassuming suburb of Silverton in Cincinnati, where he spent his childhood chasing bugs and snakes in preparation for earning a bachelor's degree in Zoology from Miami University and a master's in Biology from the University of Akron. During the latter, he got his first taste of brewery life working part-time as a packager for Thirsty Dog Brewing Co. After three years living in Vancouver studying spider genomics for his PhD, Sam grew weary of Canada's weird plastic money and (actual) yoga hosers. So he moved back to the states and has been working the packaging line at MadTree since March 2017. When he's not working, you will likely find Sam staring expectantly at bushes/walls/the ground, in curious search of the smaller things in life (usually spiders).

She worked for ten years in the Non Profit Sector and was introduced to the guys at MadTree through collaborative projects. Lauren began volunteering in February of 2014, officially joining the MadTree family in September of 2014. Lauren comes from a long lineage of Domestic Light Beer drinkers, but, thankfully, her palate has had a change of heart. Once she began trying different craft beers, she never looked back. If Madmann were on tap year round you could find her living off of it. She is also obsessed with the deliciousness that is Pilgrim Pale Ale. When she isn’t working you will find her hanging out with her husband, three children and two dogs. She enjoys DIY projects and working on her house. A self-proclaimed foodie, she enjoys trying new foods and recipes.

After growing up in the Cincinnati area, Lynn ached to leave Ohio and traveled 10 hours to Charleston, South Carolina to experience the southern way of life. She attended College of Charleston where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, with a focus in event planning. After being introduced to craft beer at Closed for Business (a local Charleston joint), Yuengling just didn’t cut it anymore and so began the development of her craft beer palate. She worked as a marketing assistant and event planning assistant before moving back to Ohio, and spent a year with the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden as an event coordinator upon her return. She landed her dream job (finally) at MadTree and is quickly learning all of the ins and outs. When she isn’t caught in the eye of the event planning storm, you can find her scouring the shelves of Valley Thrift, hiking at Red River Gorge, or teaching herself how to cook something other than spaghetti.

Dusty was born & raised in Dayton, OH where he graduated from UD with a degree in accounting (and a double-major in a certain "blue beast"). He moved to Cincinnati to start his career and quickly developed a more discerning palate. Eventually Dusty started homebrewing with some close friends and craft beer - along with everything related to brewing - rapidly became an obsession. He started bugging the guys at MadTree about a job before they had even started brewing, so perhaps it was karma when over a year later they decided to hire an accountant and Dusty was able to join the team. He is married to Karen and they have a daughter and a son.

At UD he mostly drank cheap beer and is now atoning for his mistakes by consuming copious amounts of good beer. Passionate to discover the beautiful South (or follow his wife's career), he worked in sales for two years before going back to school for his MBA at the University of Alabama. He was recruited to P&G where he worked for 4 years in the analytics space. While in Bama he developed a passion for good beer through his buddy (and investor) Shane. After attending GABF in 2008 the passion turned into obsession and he began homebrewing shortly after. He met Jeff and Kenny in 2009 and the rest is that of folklore. He is married to Amie, with sons Crosby and Casper, and daughter Clementine.

Originally from Texas, Kenny received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He went on to get his Masters in Engineering at Cornell and then an MBA from Xavier. Outside of education, he pursued his career at Northrop Grumman as a software engineer (which led him to Cincinnati) before transferring his skills and experience to becoming a co-founder of MadTree Brewing Company in 2013. Within four years, his ambition and passion grew a small 15-barrel brewhouse into a brand new 126-barrel brewhouse located in Oakley, where he resides. This was one of many things that led him to become a winner of the Cincinnati Business Courier's 2016 Forty under 40 awards with six years to spare and be named a finalist for the E&Y Entrepreneur Of The Year in 2017.
Kenny is all-in when it comes to community involvement. He is on the board of trustees for the Oakley Community Council and Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber and serves on Xavier University's Williams College of Business' Board of Executive Advisors. He can also be found enjoying a pint of beer with his co-workers and friends or walking to local shops in the Oakley Business District with his wife and 100-pound Saint Berdoodle named Colonel.

Trevor was born and raised...
Trevor was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH. During college he went on a trip with his brother to Boston where he toured the Samuel Adams brewery. In awe of the beer making process as well as how many styles of beer available, upon his return, he was eager to try more craft beer and branch out from what the rest of the college crowd was drinking. After graduating from Miami University, he returned to Cincinnati and started homebrewing with a fellow friend in his spare time. Coincidentally, MadTree had just opened so Trevor inquired about getting involved. He started volunteering whenever his schedule would allow, eventually leaving his desk job to join the MadTree community as an employee. Trevor enjoys spending time and going on adventures with his wonderful wife and handsome son.

Mike burned his suits and said peace out corporate world to pursue a passion for craft beer. A West Sider that also lived in South Florida and the Bahamas graduated from the University of Cincinnati where he became familiar with terrible cheap adjunct lagers. Luckily, his San Diego-based brother began introducing him to quaint little West Coast breweries like Stone, Ballast Point, and Russian River. Craft became an obsession as he went on to create The Brew Professor beer blog that quickly became a popular source for Cincinnati beer news. His free time is spent hanging out with his four awesome kids (yes, four). And he has an excellent dog named Scooter. Scooter is the shit.
